OIL IN PROTECTED AREAS

A large part of the oil exploitation in Ecuador is carried out in protected natural areas. These areas were protected in order to conserve their biological riches and to guarantee that they will continue to provide essential environmental services such as the protection of watersheds, the capture and purification of water, regulation of climate, etc.
